This fun event will feature Live 5 News Evening Anchor, Michal Higdon, live entertainment by Lauren Hall, Ben Fagan & The Holy City Hooligans, Lafaye, Chris Boone, music by DJ Natty Heavy, a corn hole competition, activities for all event-goers, and of course, the BBQ sauce! Competitors will be provided with the pork and prohibited from additionally seasoning the pork itself. This will ensure that all competitors start with the same pork product and leave the sauce to shine through. The determining factor in the tasting competition will only be the sauce.

 

Dozens of competitive sauce makers from around our state will go head to head, or "sauce to sauce," in the mild red, hot red, mustard, vinegar, and specialty categories. Winners in each category will be awarded, with one winner declared the official South Carolina BBQ Sauce Grand Champion. "Getting Saucy" guest judges include  Black Food Fridays, KJ Kearney, Bill West from 96.9 The Wolf, and others.

BBQ Sauce Makers Include The Motley Chew, Billy's SLAPP'N Sauce, Rising Smoke, Kees Kitchen, Sea Monster Sauces, SWAMP tonic, Cox BBQ Sauce, Dog & Duck, Mo Mo Sauce, Smoke-N-Out, Chipper Dog BBQ, Smokin' Coals, Ogre Sauces, Loyal Dogs LLC, J-Bones of Carolina Kitchen, High to Lowcountry BBQ, Baps Catering, Gar Sauce, Julz's Creations, Lillie's of Charleston, Zack's Sandwich Shack, Three Little Piggies, This Little Piggie, and Big Shon's Everything BBQ.

 

Tickets are on sale now. Regular Priced Tickets are $40. Tickets at the gate will be $45. Kids under 12 are free. The ticket price includes tasting all of the delicious BBQ and sauces, live entertainment & activities. Additional food trucks, plus beer and wine, will be available on site. This is a cash-free event except for alcohol purchases.
